## What does LCM stand for?

In math LCM is the abbreviation for Least Common Multiple which represents the smallest number (non-zero number) that is a multiple of two or more given numbers. For instance the LCM for 2, 4 and 8 is 8 as: 2 * 4 = 8, 4 * 2 = 8, 8 * 1 = 8.

In order to find the least common multiples of two or more numbers the first thing to do is write out the prime factors of each number. For instance let’s figure out the LCM for 10 and 32:
