How does this weight watchers calculator work?
First of all this is a three method weight tool based on the concept implemented in the world famous weight watchers calculators so it is not an official calculator of the Weight Watchers International, Inc. This tool was created only for general information purposes and uses information presented on public sources as presented on Wikipedia. There are three tabs you can choose from and each one has a different method implemented. The points system for each is detailed below. Remember that each section allows you to choose from a variety of measurement units such as milligrams, grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds for the weight, inches and centimeters for height.
- The first tab is named “New Points Plus – U.S.” and is designated to calculate the Points Plus by the new system based on protein, carbohydrates, fat and fiber; For instance an example of 300g protein, 708g carbohydrates, 26g fat and 44g fiber accounts for 107 Points Plus.
- The second tab is named “Old Points Method” is designated to calculate the points by using the old system based on calories, fat, and fiber; For instance an example of 1780 calories for food energy, 370g for fat and 245g fiber accounts for 66 Old Points.
- The third tab is named “Daily Points Plus Target” is designated to calculate the daily points target based on age, weight, height, gender and activity level. For instance an example of a woman, aged 35 with a height of 6ft and a weight of 124lbs, most of the day standing accounts for 21 Daily Points Target.
