How does this work hours calculator work?
This is a simple tool to use when keeping track of work hours, be them regular or overtime. It is recommended for small business owners or any employers and even employees who need to estimate the salary budget & next paycheck.
The data that is taken into account by the work hours calculator is:
- Regular pay rate
- Overtime pay rate
- Overtime rule (users can choose from either after 8 hrs/day or after 40 hrs/week or no overtime)
- Starting hour/day
- End working hours/ day
- Lunch/ Breaks
This is a very flexible tool, since it allows users to add to the timesheet as many new working new days as they want by simply pressing the button “+1 Day”. There is no complicated formula behind the calculator. It simply makes the difference between the end working hours and start working hours, then by subtracting the number of hours and/or minutes for lunch & breaks from the hours worked, it displays the timesheet with the regular hours worked and overtime hours worked detailed for each working day as well as a grand total with the pay check by total regular pay and total overtime pay.
Then it provides the detailed report in pdf format.
So please note that on the left corner, below the timesheet table with the results the Work Hours Calculator provide, there is a button named “SAVE/PRINT PDF”. Press the “SAVE/PRINT PDF” if you would like to save and/or print the PDF report with the hours worked timesheet table.
Let’s take for instance a case where the hourly pay rate is set at 6.84, while the overtime pat rate is set at 8.15 and the limit is after 8 hours per day. The following table shows the information that has been entered in the input forms of the calculator.
|Day||Starting time||Ending time||Lunch/ Breaks|
|1||8:00 am||6:35 pm||43 min|
|2||9:10 am||7:35 pm||35 min|
|3||8:40 am||7:25 pm||32 min|
|4||9:00 am||6:40 pm||54 min|
|5||8:35 am||6:14 pm||45 min|
The result is:
